Instructor: Nikolas Dietis, Assistant Professor | Teaching & learning research has developed rapidly during the last decade and has contributed to a vast number of new ideas, concepts and practices. There is a false notion that all this development is just the use of technology and web-based applications in teaching. But using technology to reach traditional teaching outcomes does not make teaching "modern". The real modern concepts of Teaching & Learning development arose from changes in our understanding of "Learning", which transformed our traditional philosophy of teaching. In this seminar, we will list and discuss these modern concepts and we'll use real-life examples of educational settings to show how to apply them. We will be using the biomedical field to show examples, but the same core concepts are applicable to all fields. The seminar is relevant to academics, teachers, doctoral students & early-career educators.
