Life-long Learning

The University of Cyprus launches a new lifelong learning program, offering open lectures and seminars to its alumni and the general public.

By improving the knowledge and personal skills of our graduates, we create better and more competitive professionals for the job market. Lifelong learning and keeping abreast of developments in each graduate 's profession is also aligned to the European Union' s goal of promoting productivity and employability.

Participation
All alumni of the University of Cyprus may participate to the lifelong learning program, who are preferably employed in a field related to the topic of the seminar. Also, non-graduates of the University of Cyprus will be given the opportunity to participate, under the condition that there are available positions. In order to obtain the certificate of attendance, every participant must complete the whole seminar cycle. In addition to receiving the attendance certificate, the students have the opportunity to be awarded ECTS credits (see “UCY Regulations – 1.15”).

Evaluation Questionnaire
All participants are asked to complete the Seminar Evaluation Questionnaire after the completion of the UCY Lifelong Learning Programme. The survey is sent to all participants via email, along with their certificate of attendance. The Questionnaire is an important assessment tool for the University of Cyprus, as it provides insights for “assessment and improvement purpose” (UCY Senate’s decision – 243rd meeting, June 8th, 2005). UCY teaching faculty, on request, can have only the anonymous report, with statistical information about the evaluation results of the whole class. Any suggestions from both the UCY faculty members and the participants are appreciated and can be emailed to [email protected].
