Description:	Dr. Margarita Chli is a leading researcher in robotic vision and autonomous systems, renowned for pioneering the world’s first vision-based autonomous flight of a small drone and the first collaborative monocular SLAM demonstration for a swarm of small drones. After a successful tenure at ETH Zurich, she joined the University of Cyprus in 2023, having been awarded a prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant to further advance her team’s groundbreaking research in robotic perception. Her work has earned her recognition as one of the most highly cited researchers in her field for her career stage. In 2025, she received the Honorary Award of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts, acknowledging her pioneering contributions and global influence in robotic vision. Professor Chli has been an invited keynote speaker at leading international venues, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, TEDx, and ICRA, and was featured in Robohub’s “25 Women in Robotics You Need to Know About” (2016). Her research continues to shape the future of autonomous systems through advances in visual perception, multi-robot collaboration, and intelligent flight technologies.
